A woman was allegedly raped and burnt alive by five men in Etah district of Uttar Pradesh late on Sunday night. It was the third incident of rape in the state in as many days.According to police, the accused forcibly entered the house of 35-year-old Anarkali in Prabhapur village and gang-raped her. Her husband, who works in Delhi, was away when the crime took place.After raping her, the accused allegedly poured petrol on the victim and set her on fire. She was taken to Etah district hospital by the neighbours where the woman succumbed to her grievous burn injuries about 90 minutes after being admitted.However, before dying, the victim made a statement to the additional district magistrate. Her children have also identified one of the accused.
